Guru Pyaari Saadh Sangat Ji,
Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru ji Ki Fateh

Sikh – disciple, student, from Sanskrit
Guru – Gu: Darkness Ru: Light
Guru one who guides from darkness to light, from Sanskrit.

As University Students our meaning of the word ‘Sikh’ becomes doubly emphasized.

Not only are we learning from everyday life,
but also learning in our Universities. But while we feed our mind, we must also
remember to nourish our soul. And while our professors teach us of Medicine,
our Guru teaches us of Enlightenment.

Over the past few years, the Sikh Student Association of American University of Medicine in Antigua (AUA) have been working for the awareness of the Sikh community as well as spreading awareness about Sikhism. We also want to make the AUA campus and community aware of Punjabi culture as well as integrate with other cultural awareness and diversity programs. We try to make our Sikh students proud and confident about
themselves by developing a sense of community through our projects and events.

May the teachings and vision of our Gurus live in our hearts, minds, and souls forever. . . while being reflected in our daily actions, choices and lifestyles.
